Students from all three OSV education programs started the school year this week. For 2015-16, a total of 70 students will take classes focusing specifically on the sports and outdoor industry.
The two Bachelor’s degrees, "Performance Sports Textile & Footwear” and "International Sales Specialists in Sports” administered by IUT Annecy, as well as the MSc in “Sports Industry Management" administered by EMLYON Business School are made up of international students from a wide variety countries and backgrounds (Algeria, Germany, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Canada, India, Italy, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and the USA).
Since their launch in 2012, OSV has encouraged member companies to become involved in the education programs by sharing their experience and expertise. The fall provides the chance to touch base regarding several opportunities available for outdoor sports companies to work with this incredible group of students.
Every year, companies within the outdoor sports industry have the chance to work with a group of students on a specific project of their choice. You can propose a market study or an idea that will be developed by 2 to 3 people for 120 hours from October 2015 to February 2016. Once complete, the project is invoiced 500 €, which contributes to financing professional extra-curricular activities for the programs (company visits, student travel expenses to ISPO, etc.).
In addition, these future sports industry employees will soon be available to work for your company as part of their required internship:
- 4 to 6 months as of March 2016 for the Bachelor’s program "International Sales Specialists in Sports”
- 4 to 6 months as of March 2016 for the Bachelor’s program "Performance Sports Textile & Footwear”
- 6 to 9 months as of September 2016 the Master’s of Science program "Sports Industry Management"
To meet the students in each program, OSV members will have the opportunity to conduct 10 to 15-minute interviews and to identify the profile that they are looking for during the upcoming Internship Forum on Thursday, December 3, 2015. This represents an exclusive event to serve the specific needs of the outdoor sports industry.
